Remove Stretch Marks


The majority of people, especially women, develop stretch marks at some point in their lives. They appear at different times for different reasons – usually because of a rapid growth spurt (such as occurs during puberty), or rapid weight gain (such as during pregnancy). Strategies to remove stretch marks are abundant with some being much more effective than others. There are a couple of key things to remember when attempting stretch mark removal.

If you are attempting to remove stretch marks at home, without the help of a professional, it is important to catch the stretch marks when they first appear, when they are reddish in color. At this point it is most effective to massage them with olive oil, coconut butter, and stretch mark creams containing vitamin E, vitamin A, This will have varying degrees of effectiveness for different people. Aloe Vera is also useful. It won’t help in to remove stretch marks, but it will help soothe any discomfort felt from recently stretched skin.

The above suggestions are useful for attempting to remove stretch marks; however they will most likely only lessen stretch marks, not remove them completely. However, laser surgery is an option for those who want stretch marks to disappear completely. For this it would be necessary to consult a dermatologist.

To avoid the necessity of stretch mark removal in the future, it is important to exercise regularly, drink plenty of water, avoid caffeinated drinks, and eat foods rich in protein, Vitamin E and Vitamin C. Healthy practices like these help keep the skin smooth and elastic.
